September is Burlesque Month in Montreal!

The summer seems to have whizzed by but that’s ok for me because I’m excited for this month of Burlesque!  From burlesque movies to art exhibits to shows and classes, this is a tasseled filled month of tease!  Last night’s launch aboard the Apollo was absolutely amazing and a great way to cast off the month.  I was just personally excited to be on a boat sailing down the river at sunset with amazing girlfriends.

A big thank you to Scarlett James and her amazing team for organizing such a great month of activities.  There’s something for everyone!  Check out the schedule and see what works for you.

And I want to give a personal thank you to Scarlett for working so tirelessly towards making burlesque available to everyone and creating such a high standard in her shows.  She has an incredible amount of dedication and love towards the art of burlesque.  I’ve worked with her and have been friends for years and she is a beautiful woman inside and out.

The studio will like to invite you for a mid-afternoon cocktail at the wonderful Burlesque Art Exhibition. Come by and see vintage photographs and costumes of famous burlesque performers of an earlier era. Check out modern pin-ups and costumes from artists of today! You don’t want to miss autographed photos of Lil St Cyr as well as a vintage traveling trunk from the 1950’s performer Josephine.
There will also be posters and photos from the Diary of a Lost Circus.  Come by the exhibit and enter a part of Montreal Burlesque History.

The event is from 2-4 at 227 Notre Dame O.

I’ll be trying to attend as many events as I can and I suggest you try to do the same. And remember to buy your tickets for the festival at the end of the month!

Hope to see you around town!
